CollabNet VersionOne Fall 2018 Release
We are excited to announce the Fall 2018 Release. With this release, CollabNet VersionOne launches new capabilities for all of its products that provide development teams greater flexibility for planning and managing their software development and delivery processes. With a combination of tool integration, value capture, value creation and value delivery—as well as analytics and governance—CollabNet VersionOne has the enterprise value stream management solutions to help your organization deliver software with confidence.
VersionOne for Scaling Agile
VersionOne for Agile Management provides end-to-end enterprise agile lifecycle management that enables teams at all levels—Enterprise, Portfolio, Program, and Team—to collaborate, develop, and deliver software faster.
The Fall 2018 Release of VersionOne includes the following usability improvements for Agile planning and tracking:
New Webhooks allow other systems to listen for events that happen within VersionOne rather than having to constantly poll. As an alternative to polling for changes in VersionOne, a 3rd party can configure VersionOne to send data via a provided webhook URL.
Enhanced Shared Views provides a way to share a view that is saved under “My Views.” This allows for more effective collaboration between VersionOne users by providing a clickable link that will configure a view that matches the view of the sender. This ensures that during collaboration all the data is consistently displayed.
Continuum for DevOps Release Management
Continuum is an enterprise-scale DevOps release management solution for accelerating the speed, reducing the risk, and ensuring the predictability and quality of complex software deployments.
The Fall 2018 Release of Continuum includes the following new features and enhancements:
New Compuware ISPW® feature enables Compuware ISPW users to leverage the CollabNet VersionOne VS (VersionOne + Continuum) solution to achieve enterprise-scale Agile adoption and DevOps transformation. ISPW integrates with Continuum to generate, deploy, promote and regress code for assignments in a specific mainframe environment. Mainframe code promotions are captured and associated with a user story to be measured and optimized across the progression of the value stream.
New Parasoft Plugin allows Continuum users to pull quality statistics from Parasoft DTP into a Package Revision. Parasoft DTP is a development testing solution from Parasoft for managing software quality and application security.
New Additional Plugins include a generic plugin to directly apply quality statistics to a Package Revision in Continuum, and a Kubernetes Plugin for Pipelines.
New Value Stream features make Continuum easier to use. Customers can now sort Packages alphabetically into swim lanes on the Progression Board to easily view and access. Also, the Progression Board now shows an indicator of pending Manual Activities, and customers can use API/CLI to complete a Manual Activity.
Enhanced Quality features enable Package Revisions to now be decorated with quality statistics, including Failed Test Count, Severity One Violation Count, and Test Coverage Percentage. Package Revisions that exceed defined thresholds will be indicated on the Progression Board.
Enhanced Teams features in Continuum include:
- Users can be added to a Team by the Team Administrator, and some properties managed by Team Manager
- Browser live-update messaging is now aware of Teams
- Export and Import of configuration Catalog now sorts data by Team
- More Insights Dashboard data is scoped by Team
- Progression Metrics are filtered by Team selection
Enhanced UX features include System Status page improvements, Settings page improvements and improved styling on Action Buttons.
Enhanced Scale/HA/Hosted features include the Worker installer now 100% configured by arguments versus needing to edit a configuration file and settings not relevant in a hosted Continuum configuration are hidden to prevent mistakes in configuration.
Enhanced Security features include a New Shared Asset Manager role that defines who can manage configuration items shared across Teams and hardened security by reconciling a number of low-severity issues.
TeamForge SCM for Git Enterprise Version Control
TeamForge SCM gives enterprises the advantages of Git, while providing a better experience for developers and ensuring compliance, governance, and IP security across all source code-related activities.
The Fall 2018 Release of TeamForge SCM includes the following new features and enhancements:
New Find Files feature allows users to quickly find files within a repository, showing results as you type. It makes it fast and easy to find a file from a repository without having to know the file path or actual file name.
New Commit Filter feature is a powerful capability to make finding interesting commits a snap! Search by log message, author, or committer. Easily find wanted commits from a set of tens of thousands of commits. This feature is great when you are interested in a certain commit, or all commits mentioning a specific keyword.
New Inline Edit for Subversion feature allows customers using the web UI to make changes to files that are version controlled by Subversion. This makes it quick and easy to make changes to Subversion version controlled files.
New Direct Inline Edit for Git feature allows users to make inline changes to Git managed files directly without creating a code review. This respects repository settings, so direct pushes must be allowed for this to work. This feature makes it quick and easy to make changes to Git version controlled files
New View Git Blame Prior to This Change feature provides users quick access to previous code change that modified the same line of code. This makes it easier to comprehend how a code section evolved to the current state by allowing the user to browse back in history right in the context.
TeamForge for Traditional and Bi-Modal ALM
TeamForge provides end-to-end application lifecycle management for enterprises utilizing traditional or bi-modal software development. It reduces the cost of development tools by providing a single platform that allows teams to streamline their software development processes and practices.
The Fall 2018 Release of TeamForge includes the following new features and enhancements:
New Baseline feature provides TeamForge users an approved snapshot of selected configuration items from a given TeamForge project at a given time. Baseline includes key data that describes or helps identify the configuration item in the same state as it existed. This new feature benefits TeamForge enterprise customers who have mature software process with a clearly defined software configuration management process.
New Native Integration Support for Nexus 3 provides TeamForge customers with deep integration with Sonatype Nexus 3, the repository for all binaries and build artifacts. This provides a scalable and robust solution to manage components, build artifacts and release candidates in one central location.
New Native Integration Support for Jenkins provides TeamForge customers deep integration with Jenkins, an open source automation server. Jenkins helps automate the non-human part of the software development process, with continuous integration and facilitating technical aspects of continuous delivery.
Enhanced Kanban Board feature provides TeamForge users the ability to filter by team members in Kanban board and focus on artifacts that are assigned to a specific user.
Enhanced Security includes TeamForge infrastructure-related enhancements.
