Dell and Apperian: The Power of Partnering
One of the lynchpins to driving mobile app adoption is ensuring that the right tools and capabilities are in place for IT administrators to monitor, manage, and secure enterprise apps effectively while making it easy for employees to find and download the apps that can help them do their jobs better.
These are just a few of the reasons why Dell Services saw an opportunity to partner with Apperian as a means to offer Dell’s customers more options for addressing their security policy requirements while supporting the needs of their employees and driving the highest adoption rates possible.
As we announced today, Apperian’s EASE platform is now being offered through Dell’s Business Innovation Services portfolio to enable Dell’s customers with seamless mobile application management (MAM®) capabilities. I recently got a chance to catch up with Chris Hodge, Dell’s Program Manager of Mobility, and talk about how they are adding value to enterprise customers with Apperian. “By leveraging the Apperian platform, we are able to quickly enable our enterprise accounts to onboard, secure, deploy and manage mobile apps through a privately-branded app store. And the Apperian management backend makes it easy for us, or the customer themselves, to manage the full lifecycle of each app. This makes a huge difference in lowering the barriers to getting transformative apps into the hands of people who can really benefit from them.” Chris expects the partnership to be a great fit for Dell Services’ customers, which operate in financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and education. Dell’s clients and their end users in these industries are increasing their use of smartphones and tablets to support enterprise and customer-centric processes.
They’re seeing enterprise mobile apps for analytics and social media monitoring and recently the mobilization of legacy applications. For its part, Dell Services builds custom apps for its clients, such as recently creating device-agnostic apps for insurance adjusters. By partnering with Apperian, Dell Services is able to easily and securely distribute custom apps to its clients. When speaking about their projects in the higher ed market, Chris explained: “Apperian’s platform provides the single pane of glass that schools and colleges alike can use to quickly publish apps to their faculty, maintenance staff and student users. Apperian integrates with the app development environments and makes app publication, app signing, and app distribution a one-click experience.”
Apperian’s platform also makes it easier for Dell’s clients to distribute mobile apps to specific employee groups. For instance, a Dell banking client can use Apperian’s platform to distribute mobile apps to employees throughout the bank and make it easy for staffers in specific roles (e.g. branch managers, sales, marketing) to find the apps that are targeted for their use. A well-designed mobile management platform also aids the bank’s administrators by providing them with a secure approach to distribute apps to employees for pre-release testing.
This provides administrators with a central location to collect and act on employee feedback on pre-release apps, helping to ensure that apps are designed to meet the requirements of specific work teams, which they expect to drive high mobile app adoption rates.
Thanks to Chris – and the Dell Services Team – we look forward to working closely with you!
