Free Workshop in DC: Steps for Achieving Agile and DevOps Success
On December 5th in Washington, DC, CollabNet along with their partner Carahsoft, a government IT solutions provider, will be hosting a complimentary half-day event on “Steps for Achieving Agile and DevOps Success” which will feature best practices and lessons learned from DISA Forge.mil. I will be attending this event and look forward to networking with others interested in next-gen software solutions that are scalable in the enterprise. In addition, check out this recent white paper to learn more about how you can achieve the benefits of DevOps on an enterprise scale and to get you excited about the context for the event.
The workshop will take a close look at the Department of Defense’s DISA (Defense Information Systems Agency) Forge.mil and the lessons learned through implementing Agile ALM and DevOps into their software delivery processes. The workshop will also include presentations on Agile transformation and the journey to DevOps, adopting cloud in develop and testing, and the fundamentals of Agile in government adoption. You may view the complete agenda and speaker bios here.

Since the inception of the project in 2009, the US Department of Defense has realized success through their collaborative software initiates brought forth by Forge.mil. The DoD’s Forge.mil application lifecycle management (ALM) platform, modeled on CollabNet TeamForge, is currently used by more than 24,000 DoD stakeholders to deliver top quality and secure military software. Not only has Forge.mil delivered at the highest standards, but it has also been estimated to save as much as $1.2 million for each enterprise project ranging from 300-2000 developers.
