App ManagementThe conventional definition of mobility (a travelling or remote workforce) is changing as you read this. While enterprise mobility is commonly thought of as referring to a travelling or remote workforce, the amount of time spent with the desktop is dwindling. That said, workers need to be just as, if not more, productive both in and out of the office. Business leaders have an enormous opportunity to transform their organization through mobility. How? There are a few key points to consider. Firstly, in their personal lives, workers are accustomed to using mobile apps. Therefore, they expect mobility and easy-to-use technology to get things done. Added to this, devices have become a very personal choice. They are extensions of the employee and office, blending the lines between work and personal lives during the day, night and over the weekends. Also, employees want to use devices of their own choice, and they want to have a consumer-like experience when using them for work. If companies have a device in an employee’s hands, it’s a matter of getting employees to use their mobile device in the right way. Finally, very few companies aren’t operating on a global scale (or thinking/planning for it), so business leaders need to focus on all employees, customers, partners – basically anyone carrying a device that is tied to their business operations, not just “remote” or “mobile” workers....
