Enterprise Apps That Feel Like Consumer Apps
Consumers have come to expect a deeply engaging experience from their mobile apps. Employees are consumers too, and demand the same engagement from enterprise apps. The best consumer apps are a triumph of simplicity, intuitive operation, ease of use, ‘touch centricity’, and ‘user delight’. They’ve become shorthand for describing employee expecatations for how enterprise mobile apps should work.

Everything that the user sees, as well as that which they don’t see, should serve the purpose at hand. In other words, even though they are invisible, the connectivity, responsiveness, back-end data services, embedded security and compliance models, etc. are all essential elements of the user experience. And all of that is for naught if a) the app doesn’t meet the user demands to get their job done more quickly and easily than before, and /or b) usage of the app decreases over time.
