Join Me In Exploring the Changing World of DevOps at SaltConf15
DevOps
I’m really looking forward to heading to Salt Lake City next week for SaltConf15, which runs March 3-5. SaltConf is the annual get-together for SaltStack customers, users, partners, developers and community members. It promises to be an exciting three days.
I will be giving a talk about a topic we think about a lot, DevOps. I’ll be looking at the what, how and why of Dev and Ops today, and suggesting ways enterprises can create a combination of the two that allows them to best meet their own needs, rather than trying to follow a formulaic approach. There is no single ideal combination, every enterprise needs to find one that works for its particular environment and culture. You need to determine whether your corporate structure is more amenable to having unified Dev teams for the entire stack, or to having distinct Dev and Ops capabilities that collaborate through the notion of a “platform contract”. Either way, the bottom line is the same: Your teams must get stuff running more efficiently and better, because faster time to market + reduced cost + higher quality = the quantifiable benefits that CIOs demand. Join us at SaltConf, or check the slides or recording (which we’ll post immediately after the event) to learn more!
