XL Deploy and XL Release offer new insights into Continuous Delivery

DevOps

Being able to dig into your current Continuous Delivery process and find useful and actionable data really adds value to the XL Platform and that’s why we’ve just rolled out a raft of new features for XL Deploy and XL Release. These enhancements make it easier than ever to configure your pipeline, integrate all of the pieces of the puzzle, and get an overview of your current release in terms of risk and efficiency. We’ve also focused some effort on alleviating the pain of configuration.

XL Release provides more insight

The new dashboard for XL release is your ultimate overview of where the current release is and how the pipeline is performing. You can see what’s working and what’s not without having to wade through multiple screens. The introduction of configurable Value Stream Analysis into the XL Release dashboard is all about empowering you to identify problem areas. Learn at-a-glance where to focus your efforts and streamline the processes that are in need of attention. To make automation and integration easier we’ve added a range of plugins, including ServiceNow and Splunk. You can also automate any target system with an HTTP or REST API thanks to the smart webhook support.

XL Deploy soothes your configuration headaches

It’s always been easy to extend the XL Deploy plugin API to support your middleware tools, but now we’ve added a fully backwards-compatible rule DSL. This means you can configure it for your current setup today and extend it to support the next big thing tomorrow and it only requires a couple lines of XML, no heavy coding. You can customize your views and dashboards in XL Deploy because we’ve included a preview version of our new UI extension framework. Consign your worries about configuration drift to the past because XL Deploy features a new, smart reporting feature. With smart container matching and the ability to filter by attributes, you can highlight the pertinent data and cut right to the chase. Whether you want to track discrepancies between the XL Deploy depository and the live environment, or compare target environments directly, you can do it. The report interface also draws on the new UI extension framework and brings HTML5 UI components to XL Deploy for the first time.

Try it for yourself

We can’t wait to hear your feedback and learn how these new versions of XL Deploy and XL Release are impacting on your Continuous Delivery pipeline. If you aren’t already using it then head to http://xebialabs.com/trials/xl-deploy/ today and sign up for your free 30-day trial.
