Android Enterprise Security

App Management

Now that Android devices—particularly smartphones—have surged in popularity, enterprises adopting the BYOD approach have a more complex challenge facing them. Because Google has created Android as an open operating system, many device manufacturers and mobile carriers have applied their own changes to the OS. This has caused widespread device fragmentation that can make application access more difficult, degrade performance and compromise security for enterprises that allow Android users to access corporate apps. This white paper examines how the Android device fragmentation has created application access challenges, along with the pitfalls of addressing such problems using a mobile device management platform. The paper also presents the strengths of addressing the challenge using mobile application management (MAM), and provides details on Apperian’s MAM solution that allows enterprises to keep corporate applications secure while enabling Android users to enjoy the same BYOD benefits as iOS users. To read more, download the whitepaper, Solving Android Multiple Personality Disorder.
