Value Stream Management Consortium unveils first VSM foundation course

As a founding Value Stream Management Consortium (VSMC) member, Digital.ai is proud to share that on September 27th, 2021, the VSMC unveiled its first piece of learning to support growing industry adoption of value stream management (VSM): a Value Stream Management Foundation course.

Earlier this year, the VSMC charter was unveiled to help organizations around the world improve performance and drive enhanced customer value through rising adoption and awareness of VSM. Digital.ai is proud to be a founding member of the charter, alongside other leading technology providers like HCL Software, Plutora, ServiceNow, and Tasktop. As a VSMC pioneer, Digital.ai has played a unique role in crafting and curating the content of this first course and will continue to play a vital role in supporting the charter’s subsequent research, initiatives, and training. 

“The course is an introduction to value stream management principles, practices, and tools. It’s designed to optimize value flow and realization in digital value streams and develop individuals’ skills,” wrote Helen Beal, Chair of the Value Stream Management Consortium of the VSM foundation course. “Digital value streams include the software applications and services in addition to the platforms that support them… It’s for anybody working in an organization aiming to improve performance, especially in response to digital transformation or disruption…”

As digital transformation efforts continue to proliferate across industries, we know that Gartner predicts that “by 2023, 70% of organizations will use value stream management to improve flow in the DevOps pipeline, leading to faster delivery of customer value.”
